Manufacturing Our Future

In this recent article at Reuters, GE’s CEO Jeff Immelt says what a lot of us have known all along, the US has to have a strong manufacturing base in order to maintain it’s status as a world leader. As we suffer the consequences of our country’s recent excesses and misplaced sense of entitlement, it is time to remember that a country that doesn’t make anything the rest of the world wants, is not a strong country. It is time to stop asking the rest of the world to prop us up and start manufacturing our own future again…..

GE’s Immelt says U.S. economy needs industrial renewal

DETROIT (Reuters) – General Electric Co Chief Executive Jeff Immelt said on Friday the United States needs to refocus its economy on manufacturing and exporting if it wishes to recover from a brutal recession.
